Hypothyroidism has been reported in Clumber Spaniels in several countries but generally is not a big issue within the breed, besides, in most cases the owner can still have a beautifully fit and healthy dog if they follow their veterinarians advice and use the appropriate prescribed drugs.

This new report may lead to genetic screening which could help populations with a genetic hypothyroidism remove that issue from future generations.
